Lesson Policies
Safety Comes First:
An ASTM/SEI approved safety helmet and boots or shoes with
heels are required at all times when mounted. Gloves are recommended for riding &
working around horses and are mandatory when lungeing. Closed toed shoes are required
at all times when visiting the farm. No flip flops or sandals are permitted. We
want you to keep your toes!!
Please be on time. Tacking up and un-tacking are not provided services, except for Beginning students who will learn this as part of their lessons until able to do these tasks on their own. Experienced students should plan to arrive at least 20-30 minutes ahead of their scheduled lesson time to tack up.
Don’t forget to leave at least 20 min after your lesson to put your horse away (cool, dry, brushed). All bits need to be rinsed off and bridles & saddles wiped and put away neatly. The area in which you groomed your horse should be swept and any manure cleaned from the floor.
Cancellation policy: Please be aware that instructors make their living teaching you. Canceling your scheduled lesson not only affects your instructor, but the farm and the person whose horse you are riding (if not your own). If you need to cancel a lesson, please try to give at least 24-hr. notice. If less than 24-hr notice is given, you may be subject to a partial payment or fee. Exceptions may be made for sudden illness or extreme weather or at the discretion of the instructor.
Payment for lessons & training are due at the time of services or can be paid in advance for a full month. Lease payments are due on the first of the month. There is a $25.00 Returned Check fee.
Please check before feeding your lesson horse a treat and please do not feed any privately owned horses. Some may have dietary restrictions.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask us. We
are here to help and want you to enjoy riding and being with the
horses!
